Event Details

Brainport Eindhoven is a major hub for technology and innovation, leading in fields like high-tech systems, semiconductors, electronics, automotive technology, and medical devices. By encouraging collaboration between businesses, knowledge institutions and governments, Brainport Eindhoven has become globally recognized for its innovative economy, attracting talent and investment to the region. Since 2015, EIPO has been sharing the success of the Brainport concept by supporting cities and regions around the world in their socio-economic development.

In December 2022, EIPO, Brainport Industries and the Brabantse Ontwikkelings Maatschappij (BOM) hosted a visit of the Prime Minister of Vietnam, together with his most important ministers, at Brainport Industries Campus, where PM Chinh called for Dutch support in developing the high-tech and innovation ecosystem in Vietnam. Last year, an exploratory mission of Brainport companies to Malaysia and Vietnam was organized, followed by a national trade mission with Dutch Prime Minister Rutte to Malaysia and Vietnam with a focus on high-tech, electronics, and semiconductors.

Several companies from the Dutch high-tech supply chain were already active in Vietnam, but in the past year, more high-tech companies have made their steps into Vietnam, such as BESI and VDL-ETG. In the meantime, there is also an exploration into further cooperation between the Dutch and Vietnamese governments to jointly improve the high-tech and innovation infrastructure of Vietnam, which will further increase the attractiveness of Vietnam as an additional location for Dutch companies that want to strengthen their position in the international value chains.

During this visit, a selection of speakers will shed light on the relevance of and expanding cooperation with Vietnam, followed by a short tour of BIC and a closing drink.

This visit, along with a networking reception, provides an opportunity to gain insights into Brainport Eindhoven, BIC, and the relevance and potential of Vietnam for the (Dutch) high-tech supply chain, as well as building stronger connections between DBAV members and regional companies interested in investing in Vietnam.
